When it comes to country clubs, the facilities that they offer are some of the most important factors to consider. The amenities you will find at a country club may include tennis courts, pickleball courts, a state-of-the-art fitness center, swimming pools, and jacuzzis. There are also professional swimming lessons that are available.
Tennis courts
If you enjoy the game of tennis, you should consider becoming a member of a country club. These facilities usually have a number of tennis courts and provide excellent service. There are also several tennis programs offered by the clubs. For example, the Westchester Country Club offers an excellent tennis program. Members can take lessons or participate in group classes. In addition, the club has an indoor tennis facility.
Tennis is an excellent spectator sport. If it was broadcast on prime-time television networks, tennis would have big ratings and would be captivating to all. Country clubs also have tennis courts for public use.
Swimming pools
Swimming pools at country club amenities can be great places for families during the summer. These pools are usually Olympic-sized with features like wading pools and tanning ledges. These amenities are often staffed by certified swimming instructors and lifeguards. These facilities also serve as the ideal setting for business meetings and private parties.
Pools require regular maintenance, and water testing is done daily. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised at all times. No running or horsesplay is allowed, and children cannot be left alone in the water. There are also no glass containers allowed, and members who do not follow the rules can be suspended.
Professional swimming lessons
Professional swimming lessons are offered for children in a variety of settings, including the swimming pool at the Country Club. Generally, these lessons are conducted one-on-one with a qualified swimming instructor, and last approximately 30 minutes. These lessons are available at any time during the week, when the pool is open. Parents may arrange for private lessons if they desire to have more time for their children.
Children can enroll in the Beginner 2 class, which focuses on improving their confidence in the water and building the foundation for more advanced lessons. The next step is the Advanced Beginner class, which emphasizes freestyle and backstroke with rotary breathing. In this level, students are required to back glide for 10 feet without breathing and perform a front glide without breathing.
Swim teams
If you’re looking for an opportunity for your child to participate in a competitive sport, consider joining a swim team. Country club swim teams typically meet twice a week during the summer. The meetings are usually held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays and are open to children ages 5 and up. In order to join, you must be able to swim at least five lengths of the pool without any discomfort. The season typically runs from mid-May through mid-July.
Country club swim teams compete in league competitions with as many as 99 kids. The 2013 City Swim Meet was held at Hunting Creek Country Club. The teams from the various country clubs were able to compete against each other to determine which country club will be crowned the champion.
